I never believed my Grandparents when they said, the older you get the faster time goes….
Here it is the first of June already…. seems like it was just the holidays.  Life just keeps trucking on by whether we are ready for it or not.  It has been 2 years since I lost Bobbie.  It has been an emotional rollercoaster ride.  Grief is not for the faint of heart.  I miss him terribly, but I know he is in a better place.

Wow, where did  2015 go?  Seems like it was just fall work, Thanksgiving, then Christmas & now already 1/3 of January is gone.  We have been blessed with a very mild winter.  I know we desperately need moisture, but the lack of snow depth is NOT hurting my feelings. I have been feeding hay all fall, as I have NO grazing available.  Hoping to find a permanent pasture situation before too long.

The Bulls are doing well.  We were late getting them weaned (Dec 9th), but weighed them on January 6th & they averaged 794#.  We had to haul them to the scale, so am sure they lost a few pounds.  Without being pushed, they have gained 2.875#/day average.  Best bull gained 3.33# & weighed 880#.  Hope to start pushing them a little bit to up their gains.

Cows are looking really good.  I sold down this fall due to the lack of pasture, so have a really nice set of cows now.  Down to only 6 head of black ones now.  My market is Red, so really concentrating on that.  We will be calving before I know it.  Always my favorite time of the year.

Our wish for you in 2016, is good grass, heavy calves & good markets.  If you get out to our area, please call or stop by.  We always love to “TALK” Salers.
